History
Medieval Origins
As early as 1280, it was listed as the property of the Cluj abbey, so it is almost certain that a church also existed. Tradition says that during the Tatar invasion, people took refuge in the fortified church, but the invaders managed to break in and killed the inhabitants.
Late Medieval Period
In 1437, Dominic, the priest of the All Saints Church, is mentioned. The early 13th-century nave retained its Romanesque features, while the sanctuary was built in Gothic style.
Protestant Reformation
After the Protestant Reformation, the population was of Unitarian denomination, and then Reformed. The church belonged to the Reformed until 1769.
Return to Catholicism
The medieval church was recovered by Catholics in 1769, and the Reformed built a new church, for which they received financial aid during Emperor Joseph II.
